I'm a bit late reading this thread but a big thanks goes out to 'TRUTH' and 'SWORD' for reminding me of the petty mindedness of your self-righteous belief system. Your system is supposed to bring peace to the world and help people personally, please try and have a bit of thought towards the individual and not just towards the love of your mass movement. We know it's proobably all you've got left for belief and hope and that you are starved of real love and understanding. God help you.

Please do, I really feel for you personally.
I took a very long way round. The more honest you can be with yourself the better, although it can seem to be the hardest thing to do. Face your problems head on and you will gradually come to see them for what they really are , run from them and they will eventually eat you up.

I hadly ever see my nephew because he lives abroad. I just love him, he's such a smart kid. Hopefully smart enought to come to his senses as regards this JW organisation. The thing is his parents [my brother's his dad] are JW's. He sometimes comes out with stuff, like the other day he just said 'Jehovah is going to kill all the bad people at amageddon with fire'. I worry for him, but I think he's too smart for them, I'm sure he will eventually come to his senses.
What's the best way to respond to stuff like that, especially from a very young child because I'm not out to damage the kid even more. I just said in passing 'So God's going to give bad people a good grilling then', and his face changed from a brainwashed dogmatic look to a thought provoking look, cos' I took the disassociation and unbalance out of it. Help me on this one I really do have hope for him cos I see he's a lot more balanced than your average JW kid.

Do You Think That You're A Little Bit Crazy???
by minimus ini spent the week with a few people, 2 jw's and their 2 non-believing husbands.
a few different situations arose that suggested to me that some of these people are a little bit crazy.
now, i'm not talking about certifiably crazy,i'm talking about just a little bit nuts.

I'm studying music, what does that tell you. That I am bonkers. All the 'best' students on this course are loose nuts, just all for different reasons, our tutor is a mad man but we all love him. Just don't get me angry, OK, or other pent up emotions might come to the fore if you 'make me' lose control.

I had a strange weekend as well, family get together, all JW's. At the end of the night when we'd had a few beers, I said stuff that I would only say to you guy's, 6 current JW's against me but I spoke from the heart with honesty of my experiences and they couldn't really refute that. What I''m saying is follow your heart and your instincts, your probably not ready yet, you've been through a lot and at this moment in time you need support, not more confusion. You will get it as well. I recomend starting from scratch with your thinking process. The best way you can do is probably start writing about how you feel, no matter how this is, how screwed up you think you may sound, write it on your note pad and then come back to it the next day and read it. Once you start getting more compfortable with the way you feel then you will start to mend. You can do it , gradually. Think for yourself.

Religion is like a dirty word for me now. I'm just trying to separate the two, religion from fanaticism but I am struggling as I've only experienced one of these. I think God is someone I will never come to understand or the concept at least. I don't think it's healthy to be extreme one way or another, but I'll probably, gradually change over time.
I recentley visited a good website with quotes of Eric Hoffer. These really helped me in my thinking and where I am at with a lot of it, you should check it out if you haven't already it's at http://www.positiveatheism.org/hist/quotes/hoffer.htm
I just thought I'd throw in this experience. When I was about ten or twelve I remember doing my forced stint of door knocking when a woman who's face I'll never forget just looked at me so sympathetically and sadly. It seemed somehow she understood something about me that I obviously wasn't aware of, she didn't even really say anything in return. When I left I thought, what does she know, but it stirred something inside of me and made me feel really uncompfortable for quite a while. Was she a so-called apostate, maybe. Well, now I understand that look on her face and I never thought I would. Now that's what I call a sign of things to come.

Are You in a Position to Help JWs and Ex-JWs???
by Prisca inhow many of us here are in the position to help jws seeking answers to their doubts and questions, as well as ex-jws who may be wondering if they've made the right decision?do you feel you have the resources to answer their questions on jw doctrines?how about providing emotional and/or spiritual help?and if you are in the position to do so, would you?.
i often wonder just how many people are out there, jws and ex-jws alike, who need someone to talk to about their jw experiences, to ask questions and find assurance.
how many of them are unaware that there are people available to help them?

I think this website is a good start and my thank's go's out to everyone involved in making this happen. There is a good mix of people here that we can get support and help from. I think the more time you spend here the more you start to understand the thoughts in many different peoples minds [positive and negative], which eventually does lead to a more balanced understanding of it all as you go through the different thought processes.
I think if you were going to make a specific helpline or support group it might help people much more, I mean it would be a lot more of a personal thing but I think it would be best not to give too much advice just support and understanding because everyones experiences are different and as 'AGuest' said some people don't want to detract from a religious belief in god, especially if that's what attracted them to this type of organisation in the first place. For me I think it's best to have personal beliefs and look to make friends who are like minded rather than look to any religion or organisation.
The question is how many people would use it because the borg work on making a very high guilt trip for anyone who would even think of such a thing. There is an amount of support for anyone who has left the organisation but what of those who are still in it.

Naaa, just speaking from experience.
Actually, I just recentley listened to a recording of an assembly and it worried me considerably. The monotone voice the unbalanced intensity of it all. It's not good and it's not healthy for anyone. Music gives anyone a voice and I've got the right to speak of my experiences in an honest way. The only reason why some people are so intense about it is to combat the intensity of this Organisation. It's all about ego, I mean have you read some of the earlier teachings of the governing body, they are crazy, but because they have this single tracked mind on their objectives they don't care who they hurt or screw up in the proccess. They're so far gone I don't think any phychiatrist could be of any help to them. Just because I use the word borg it doesn't mean I'm a crazy jw hater, I just think it's a fitting word for them. My mums a jw and other members of my family and I love them the same way I always did but when they try to 'bring me round' I tell them exactly how I feel about it and they never have an answer in return.

This is not a shamless plug, honest. I am recording an electronic track at college called 'Borg Loved'. You will be able to download it for free at peoplesound.com once I finish it, if your interested. It will be under the name ASTHAMTIC CLOUDHEAD. One of my mum's borg friends has offered to design a cover for my final project college CD, I don't know him personally, maybe she's just trying to get me back in by trying to give me a 'positive influence'. I just think it would the the funniest thing that a jw designs the cover of a CD with this subject matter.
The thing is do you think he'll know. I don't know how 'educated' borg people are to this sort of thing, do you think he would realise. I was thinking of just making up some story. what u reckon - Justice comes in unusual ways I think, no matter how small.
Here are the lyrics,
Lyrics
Your borg love is bringing me round
But i won't make it without a sound
Your borg love, but we're coming round
And we will make it with our own mindFEMALE VOICE [SPOKEN]
Taste my borg love
Taste my borg love
You could stay lost in my world
But you can't afford to stop and think even for a moment
Lets stay lost together
You can't make it in this world alone
Lets make it forever
Stay lost with our dreamy glaze and endless days of bliss
You wont feel a thing
Trust me
You wont feel a thing
